Camberwell Morning Garden Club member wins 1st prize at Royal Horticultural Society Victoria Hanging Baskets Competition, MIFGS 2017

The Royal Horticultural Society hanging basket area of over 400 hanging baskets was a wonderful example of attainable and achievable gardens for everyone - those with large gardens, those with just a balcony and also suits those without the big cheque book.

The 400 hanging baskets were grown by Affiliated Garden Clubs, Individual Members, TAFE Colleges, Primary Schools, Disadvantaged Groups, baskets grown for therapy, representing all ages and diversity.

Camberwell Morning Garden Club was very well represented with all its volunteers who assisted – thanks to all who helped.

One of our members on their first effort ever won a blue ribbon First Prize in the Members Section – congratulations.

Hope all members can attend the Gardener’s Day Out on Saturday 17 June 2017 held at Deakin University, Burwood Campus and cheer on our member winner collect their prize.  There will be a great line up of special presenters, plant stalls and great raffle prizes – it’s a great day out for gardeners on a Winter Day.

Next year, 2018 the Royal Horticultural Society turns 170 – a wonderful milestone.  Become an individual member of the RHSV and grow your own basket.
