State Rose Garden, Werribee

The forecast all week had been for wet weather, but we were lucky and our trip day was a perfect blue sky spring day.

About 30 members headed down the freeway to Werribee to visit the State Rose Garden, where we had morning tea in the picnic ground.

The garden was very green, thanks to the spring rain! All the rose bushes were covered in multitudes of buds and lots of roses were blooming, and would be at their best in a couple of weeks.

We spent an hour and a half wandering around admiring the colourful display and trying to remember all the names!!

Our lunch venue was only minutes away at the Werribee Golf Club, along side the Werribee River. We all enjoyed a delicious 2 course lunch, before heading back to Melbourne.

Thank you to Helen and Marilla for a wonderful day.
