Mystery Trip - Silvan, Monbulk and Mt Evelyn

26 members set off on our Mystery Trip leaving Camberwell at 9.30am.
The early time indicated we were travelling some distance.

We headed towards the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges and this kept us guessing as to where we were going.
Our first stop was morning tea at the Barn Owl Cafe, Silvan. It was in the grounds of a ‘pick your own’ blueberry farm which operates in the warmer months.   As well as a hot mug of coffee, tea or hot chocolate we had lovely scones served with jam and cream. Very nice – everyone requested the recipe. A young man had made them.

We then visited the Wishing Well Nursery, Monbulk with a huge range of plants which was much appreciated by members who bought lots.

We continued on to Kuranga Native Nursery, York Road, Mount Everlyn which was lovely as usual. They have great plants, a great layout and lots of rusty garden decorations, bird baths and pots. The big range of gifts etc in the shop also lured members.

A very good lunch was had at the York Hotel, Mount Everlyn at 1.30pm before travelling home.

Once again we had great service from our driver Glen from Melbourne on the Move bus company. A big thank you to Helen and Marilla for organising the outing.
