NEWSLETTER - OCTOBER 2020

You are here

Thursday, 8 October, 2020

Dear Members,

This is our 6th CMGC newsletter which means that we have now been in lockdown for 6 months! I hope that you have been enjoying these missives and that they have helped you to feel connected to our wonderful club and its members.

If I hadn’t been doing this newsletter or getting my garden back under some sort of control again, I think I would have gone completely nuts during lockdown. Through the contributions, I have got to know members whom before were just faces to me at meetings. Your friendship and contributions have been greatly appreciated. If you have something you would like to share with our members from your garden or experience, don’t hesitate to email me. I try to make sure that each contribution goes into the newsletter. Or, if you would like me to cover a specific topic, please let me know.

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Peter Stephens, husband of our beloved plant stall co-ordinator Sylvia, passed away quietly on Friday 2 Oct. after losing his battle with cancer. Our love, thoughts and prayers go to Sylvia and Emma.

Lea Carter is in rehab, has turned a corner and is making progress. Go Lea. She still requests that we refrain from making contact at this time, so I will keep you informed.

If like me you love birds, you might like to join the The Aussie Backyard Bird Count, bird monitoring citizen science project run annually by BirdLife Australia.

With Spring around the corner, this month’s edition is full of colour and life. We all look forward to warmer days and better times ahead. Stay well and take care.

Warmest regards,

Fiona Lynch
