Cranbourne Botanic Gardens

You are here

Thursday, 17 May, 2018

Our trip today was to the lovely Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne, which was established in 1970. It is an Australian native garden and has a diverse aray of indigenous plants in the most gorgeous setting.

It is the clubs third visit to the gardens, (May 2009 and May 2013), and it has been wonderful to see how the garden has evolved over the years. The trees are now well established and new areas have been developed.

After a warm cuppa in the Boon Wurrung cafe at the Visitor Centre, we had 2 hours to walk at leisure around the gardens. We even had time to make a few purchases in the gift shop.

We enjoyed a really delicious two course lunch at Kelly's Motor Club Hotel, then on to Gardenworld in Braeside where we had an hour to stock up on plants to add some winter colour in our gardens.

Again, a big thank you to our trip organisers for a fabulous day out.
