63 members gathered early on Thursday morning for our Christmas trip to the Rainforest Gallery and Skywalk at Cement Creek (about 10kms from the summit of Mt Donna Buang)
After a quick morning tea in the picnic ground, members set off on the walk which starts at the top of the rainforest canopy, with views down into the valley below. There is a large observation platform allows you to immerse yourself in the tree canopy. Some members were content to remain enjoying the view, while many others continued down along the elevated boardwalk, which winds down into the forest to Cement Creek.
Our next stop was the RACV Club in Heallesville for our 3 course Christmas lunch. We have had our Christmas lunch here for a few years now and the meal and ambience is lovely, with great views of the hills across the golf course.
On our return into Melbourne we had a stop at Plantmark Wholesale Nursery in Wantirna for some great plant purchases. The luggage compartment under the bus was fully laden with lots of colourful potplants on its trip back to Camberwell.
A fabulous day out was had by everyone - a big thank-you to the organisers!! Merry Christmas!!
