Thursday, 22 April, 2004

On Thursday 22ndApril we went on our autumn excursion to the Warratina Lavender Farm at Wandin Yallock, in the foothills of the Dandenongs in the Yarra Valley. The Lavender Farm began its development in 1991 replacing an old orchard, and is run by the Manders family.Annemarie Manders had spoken to us about her farm at one of our meetings last year and it was great to visit her there. It was a warm day and we spent the morning wandering in the garden and Annemarie spoke of the many healing properties of lavender.

We then had lunch at Worri Yallock Hotel with its picturesque views over the Yarra Valley and a quick stop at a nursery in Wandin before returning home.
