On Thursday 12 December 71 club members set off in 2 buses for our annual Xmas celebration. Our first stop was “Mont de Lancey” Historic Homestead in North Wandin where we were warmly greeted by staff. The complex features a fully restored homestead taking you back to a bygone era, a blacksmith’s forge overflowing with tools, bellows and the like, tea rooms, an art gallery and more. Of particular interest were the heritage gardens with a 110 year old oak tree, a stunning display of fuchsias and roses, and beautifully tended gardens. Morning tea was enjoyed in a rotunda, then members made their own way around the buildings and gardens.
We then proceeded to the RACV Healesville Country Club for our delicious Xmas lunch. 8 lucky members received prizes in the Xmas raffle and we celebrated all those with birthdays in December including Gloria Waples, whose was on the day. It was a fitting end to an excellent year of CMGC meetings and trips. Members received their programs for more fun and trips in 2020.
