We a very wet start to our Christmas trip this year, which saw a few alterations to our day's plans. We set off in teeming rain, arriving at Alowyn Gardens in time for morning tea. Owing to such bad weather, which was due to clear after lunch, we decided to leave our garden tour till the afternoon, and made our way next door to Chocolatier to sample the chocolate a purchase some delicious Christmas presents.
We then went one of the club's favourite lunch spots, the RACV Club, where we were served a terrific 3 course Christmas lunch complete with wine and champagne.
Once the rain had stopped, we returned to Alowyn for our guided tour of the extensive gardens. It had certainly changed and grown significantly since the club's last trip there in December 2010, with the inclusion of a well stocked nursery and gift shop.
