Roses and Gardening

Robert Aitken
Thursday, 9 October, 2008

Unfortunately, owing to traffic congestion, this month’s guest speaker, Robert Aitken, was late, so to fill in time, the President encouraged members to share their hints and tips for the garden, including discouraging possums, extending the life of cut flowers etc, but no one had any ideas for remedying the situation when a sheep eats your plants, as happened to a members' niece.

When Robert arrived, members enjoyed an interesting talk as many of Robert’s ideas and opinions are contrary to more established views.  He also brought many varieties of roses to show us. Robert gave one of these roses to each person who stayed behind to assist with stacking chairs!!
