Marilyn is one of Australia’s most significant begonia enthusiasts with a huge collection, including many rare species from all over the world.
Marilyn is a member of the Melbourne Begonia Society and has a deep engagement with cultivating begonias, with a personal collection of over 1000 different types. A large array of beautiful begonias was on display and Marilyn described their many differing characteristics of leaf shape, colouring and flowers, including some rare and unusual species.
She deftly demonstrated the most effective and relatively simple ways to take and grow cuttings and noted that most enjoy a protected location.
