Phillip works in the environment department at the Boroondara Council.
Philip explained the benefits of using wicking beds :-
- Balanced and efficient system to water plants
- Less evaporation, 30 – 40% more efficient
- Less prone to weeds
- Reduce fungal issues
- Easy to leave gardens for longer periods if going away
Philip brought in a small wicking bed to demonstrate to members how to construct a wicking bed.
