Today our speaker was Julianne who showed us many photographs of her walking trip across England last year. The 192 mile coast to coast path was devised in the 1970’s by Alfred Wainwright and takes 13 days to complete, passing through several National Parks of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.

Julianne gave a most impressive talk on the dales and valleys from St Bees on the Irish Sea coast to Robin Hoods Bay on the North Sea, via ‘Brideshead Revisited’,  ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, ‘Hogwarts’, and Aidensfield. This was punctuated with scenes of meadows of buttercups and other assorted English wildflowers, quaint cottages, pretty coastline, tumbling becks and breathtaking views.

Note to members – when hiking in the UK distance is in MILES not kilometres and ensure to pack wet weather gear.
