Anne-Marie Sheean from Oasis Seedlings gave many practical insights along with best practice tips for great results with flower and vegetable growing. She compared the different types of seedling punnets available, advised on choosing pots for herbs and seedlings and analysed a range of potting mixes with the advice to choose a high quality growing medium for best plant performance. Anne-Marie compared organic and artificial fertilisers as well as a newly marketed vegan fertilizer (without animal products), noting that it is not necessary to have a shed full of different fertilisers! She was enthusiastic about using companion plants such as the new cultivars of nasturtiums and marigolds to attract beneficial insects.
