Barbara Pye, who together with her husband David, presented a power point presentation on drought resistant plants. Barbara spoke about –
Eremophilas – good for a hot,dry spot in the garden. Low nutrient need, low water need.
Correas – from the family of lemon tree – Pulaceae. These plants grow in areas of high rainfall.
Eucalypts – small growing in dry country.
Photos showed the development of Melton Botanical Gardens using river sand from Bacchus Marsh used as a mulch. This allows water to penetrate to the plant roots.
